Arbor Week Tree Planting Event

May 20th at 3pm-5pm at the parking lot of 3 Godfrey Drive, Orono

Come join the Orono Tree Board and Public Works employees plant 125 trees in the Godfrey Drive buffer strip to celebrate Arbor Week! We will meet at 3pm at the large parking lot at 3 Godfrey Drive. There will be a short informational talk about why we are planting trees in the buffer strip. Planting trees into a buffer strip stabilizes the soil, reduces noise and air pollution, creates greater water filtration and drainage for urban stormwater runoff, increases pest resiliency, increases tree diversity, and increases wildlife habitat which all increase climate resiliency within the area. Please wear sturdy shoes and bring gloves if you have them.
