A paving project is about to begin in your area as part of the FY22 Capital Infrastructure Improvements Plan (FY22 CIP) approved by the Town Council in June, 2021. The area of work will be Kelley Road from the I-95 overpass to the intersection of Main Street.
The scope of this project will include:
Ditch and Inslope Excavation – This project includes some work on the edges of the pavement and the existing ditch lines. We will be working to clean out the ditches, expose the existing culverts, clean up the edges of the road, and reestablish existing drainage systems. This part of the project starts at the I-95 overpass and extends to the curbed areas near the Main St intersection.
Asphalt pavement milling and overlay of the street – The areas from the I-95 overpass to Old Kelley Road will be paved as part of this project. The travel lane will be milled and paved with 2” of asphalt pavement, followed by a full width 1 ½” asphalt overlay. Existing lawns and driveways will then be matched to the new pavement.
Ditching and inslope excavation is scheduled to begin during the week of August 23rd and should last about two weeks, followed by the paving, and restorations. The entirety of the project is expected to be completed by the end of October.
No road closures are planned for this project, and access to your driveway will be maintained at all times.
Thank you in advance for your understanding and patience as we work through this much needed project. Should you have any questions regarding any phase of the project, including scope and scheduling, please feel free to contact me at 889-6101, or via email at email@example.com
