After an exhaustive national search, I am pleased to announced that Geoffrey Low has accepted the position of Orono Fire Chief and will begin his duties on April 30, 2018. Hailing from Minot, Maine, Geoff has been a member of the City of Auburn Fire Department for approximately 24 years -- starting as a paramedic and ascending the ranks to become Fire Chief, a position that he currently holds. Geoff brings a wealth of skill and knowledge gained from decades of experience as well as degrees in Fire Science and a Masters of Business Administration. He also earned distinction from the National Fire Academy as an Executive Fire Officer as well as from the Center for Public Safety Excellence as a Chief Fire Officer.
