Municipal Buildings Closed to the Public

The Town of Orono continues to monitor the COVID-19 Virus (Coronavirus) and its potential impacts on our community. After serious consideration and in consultation with our Management Team and Town Council Chairperson, we will be making some temporary adjustments in the way Town services are provided. These protocols will be evaluated on an ongoing basis and modifications will be made as information and circumstances warrant; however, it is anticipated that they will continue at least through the end of March. These procedures will provide necessary protections and allow for the continuation of services in a manner that best protects all concerned while hopefully minimizing the inconvenience and disruption for our customers. As of Monday, March 16th at 11:00 AM all Municipal Buildings are closed to the public but staff will be working to provide services remotely. We encourage people to look at the Town website at www.orono.org for current information about operations.

Our goal is to ensure the safety of our employees and our residents in the most responsible ways possible. We are using an abundance of caution in order to do our best to slow the spread of this virus. We strongly encourage residents to practice social distancing to avoid potential contact, but we also encourage everyone to call and check on neighbors, friends, and family to avoid social isolation and make sure that needs are being met. Thank you for your cooperation. Working together we will get through the Coronavirus Pandemic.
