ADA and Civil Rights Policy and Complaint Procedure

Those in our community should expect nothing short of an accepting environment where they need not fear harassment of any kind. The diversity of our residents, students, and visitors brings a rich vibrancy to our Town. Everyone who lives, works, learns, or visits here should feel safe and comfortable living their lives openly without fear -  regardless of the color of their skin, the religion they practice, their gender or gender expression, their sexual orientation, the nation from which they hail, their disability, and/or their socioeconomic status.  If you have been the victim of hate related criminal activity, please contact the Orono Police Department or contact the Town's Civil Rights Liaison, Police Captain Scott Lajoie, during regular business hours to share concerns of discrimination in Orono.

The Town of Orono is an equal opportunity employer and service provider that celebrates diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive environment for our employees and those we serve. If you are concerned about discrimination or insensitivity in your interactions with the Town or require assistance accessing Town sponsored services, activities, or events please do not hesitate to contact the Town Manager.
