Emergency Medical Services

Firefighters in Orono are trained in both fire and emergency medicine allowing an economically feasible way to provide both fire and medical care to the community. A minimum of two paramedics are on duty at all times. The fire department operates a total of three ambulances. One ambulance is staffed 24 hours a day at the Main Street Station. A second ambulance is housed at the Main Street station and is staffed with personnel assigned to the fire engine. The third ambulance is housed in Veazie and responds to calls in Veazie and as an additional resource.
