About Us

The Orono Police Department has adopted the philosophy of Community Policing. We have several programs that are already in place such as a School Resource Officer, The D.A.R.E. Program, The Neighborhood Watch Program, Good Morning Program,  House/Property Check Program, K-9 Officer and our Detective acts as a liaison between the Police Department and the Business Community.

Our mission is to provide a safe, secure atmosphere and to the enhance the quality of life in the Town of Orono by working cooperatively with the public. We strive to strengthen public confidence in our organization and promote a safe and friendly community through enforcement and education.
