Before Halloween  Plan a trick-or-treating route in familiar neighborhoods withwell-lit streets. Make sure children know your cellphone number, their hometelephone number, and address in case you get separated. Consider giving them a cellphone so they can reach you easily. Winter Parking Ban

Notice of Winter Parking Ban

Orono, Maine

It shall be unlawful for the owner or operator to cause, allow or permit any vehicle to be parked on any street within the Town of Orono between the hours of twelve (12) midnight and eight (8) o’clock AM from the 1st day of November in any year to the 15th day of April in the following year.

Penalties: Any person violating this regulation is subject to a fine and the removal and impoundment of said vehicle, with the cost thereof paid by the owner...

2013 Vote & Vaccinate

Orono will hold a Flu Clinic on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 2:00-4:30 pm in the Orono Council Chambers, 59 Main Street.  During the clinic, Orono residents who are registered to vote will also have the opportunity to complete an absentee ballot for the November 5th Referendum Election.

The cost for the influenza vaccine is $15 for adults (19 and over) and $10* for Children (3 months to 18 years old).  Payment by cash or check is required on the day of the clinic.  The Flu Clinic is...

Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off, Sat., Oct 5th

The Town of Orono will participate along with over 20 greater Bangor area towns in the Annual Household Hazardous Waste Dropoff.  On Saturday, October 5, 2013, Orono residents can bring their hazardous waste items (with the permit) to the Bangor Public Works Department at 530 Maine Avenue, which is near the Bangor Airport, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Additional traffic lanes will be open again this year, making the process quick and easy.
