Community Skate Night, 1/16!

Come join Orono Parks & Rec for our 1st Community Skate Night!  There will be hot cocoa, music, games and more.  The event takes place on Friday the 16th, from 6-8pm, at the Orono Community Ice Rink.  This free event is open to everyone. No registration required.

Public Hearing on Comp Plan LDR District Amendment

The Orono Comprehensive Plan Committee will conduct a public hearing on its draft report and recommendations to the Town Council concerning the purpose of and land uses in the Low Density Residential District.  This district encompasses a section of Orono along Stillwater Ave. and west along Forest Ave. about 1.5 miles from I-95.  The hearing will be a 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015, Town Council Chambers, Municipal Building, 59 Main Street, Orono.  The draft can be reviewed at ...

New Burn Permit Rules Starting January1st

Beginning on January 1st, residents of Orono will be able to obtain burn permits online by visiting https://www13.informe.org/burnpermit/public/index.html . This will allow residents to obtain burning permits 24 hours a day for a reduced cost of only $7 a day. In order to obtain the permit, you will need:

Burn Information including address and type of material being burned Printer to print your permit A Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit/debit card

2015 Recycling Schedule

Zero Sort Recycling is a more efficient and convenient way of collecting residential recycling. Residents are not required to sort recycled materials for curbside collection. Materials simply need to be placed curbside in a recycling bin or otherwise clearly marked container marked "Recycling".
