Money Found

A sum of money was found within the last couple of weeks in a parking lot in Orono. The money was in a bank envelope. Any one missing the money please call the Orono Police Department and speak with either Officer Chris Watson or Detective Sergeant Derek Dinsmore. Come meet local playwright, Travis Baker, as he speaks about his journey in writing the play, One Blue Tarp, Tuesday January 28 @6pm - Orono Public Library. His show will receive it's world premier at the Penobscot Theatre Company, running from February 1 - 16. Get an inside look about the life and process of playwrighting and the journey this play took from being an idea to being named the Best Play from Maine in the 2013 Clauder New England Playwrights Competition.

Fused Glass Class for Adults

Nomination Papers for Municipal Election Available NOW!

Nomination papers will be available after December 16th at the town office for the March 11, 2014 Municipal Election.

The deadline for filing papers is on or before 4:30 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2014. At least 25, but no more than 100

signatures of Orono voters are required to have a name placed on the ballot.

Free Tax Help

Professor Steve Colburn and students from the University of Maine Business School will offer free tax assistance at the library on Fridays from 12:00-3pm; January 31 - April 11 (except  March 6 & 13). Orono Community Theatre presents ...

The Orono Community Theatre presents Proof by David Auburn, directed by Sandy Cyrus with Dick Brucher, Jennifer Hancock, Joel Crabtree and Hailey Crabtree. 

The performances will be held on January 16, 17, 18, 24 & 25 at 7:30 pm and January 19 & 26 at 2:00 pm in the Cyrus Pavilion Theatre at the Unversity of Maine.  Tickets:  $12 Adults, $6 UMaine students with ID. Tickets on sale at the Orono Pharmacy and at the door.  Mature content.  No late seating.
