Help Wanted - Assistant Clerk

Household Hazardous Waste Day

Orono residents may bring their household hazardous waste to Old Town Recycling Center on June 27th from 9 AM - 1 PM for free disposal. No permit is required, just proof of residency. More information about allowable waste is available here. Household e-waste may also be brought to the site for disposal with Electonics End. Information about accepted e-waste.

Backyard Bash & FOPL Book Sale today!!!

Today is a big day for us at the library! Starting with a giant book sale at 3:00! Books for 50 cents or a dollar – fiction, nonfiction, children’s and more! The book sale ends at 7:00. At 5:30 we’re selling hot dogs, lemonade and watermelon to add to your picnic dinner. Bring a chair or blanket and sit in the grass to listen to Manakosher (Nathan Manaker, Noam & Zivi Osher) perform delightful tunes; and Julie Monroe sing some of our favorites with special guest, Jeff Rampe!

Brush Pick Up Ends June 12th

Brush pick up ends Friday, June 12, 2015. 

Any new brush can be taken to the landfill at no charge.  Residents must obtain a free permit (at the Town Office, Monday-Friday) to haul brush and bagged leaves to the landfill during regular operating hours (Wednesdays and Saturdays 8AM-4PM).  The landfill is located on Taylor Road (off Forest Avenue). Materials must be dumped in the designated area as directed by the Public Works staff.  No contaminated materials will be accepted.
