Hydrant Flushing - Orono-Veazie Water District

The Orono-Veazie Water District is going to be doing their spring flushing in Orono beginning on April 18th and will continue for several weeks in order to complete all areas.

We will be placing temporary signs the day before we begin flushing in a neighborhood to keep you informed. Should you have any questions about when we are going to be in your area please call our office at 207.866.4449.

Register now for Rec Baseball !

The Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for T-Ball (4-5 yr old)  and Triple A Baseball (6-8 yr old) . Programs start the week of April 30th and ends June 14th

Wednesday Wonders-April is Poetry Month

On April 25 at12:30 local author and poet, Sandra L Hutchison, will perform a poetry reading and share her experiences as a poet.  Sandra is the author of a book of poetry, The Art of Nesting, and a memoir about living in China during the Tiananmen Uprising, Chinese Brushstrokes.  Her poetry, stories, essays and reviews have appeared in a wide variety of publications, including the Oxford anthology of stories about China, Chinese Ink, Western Pen.

Easter Egg Hunt- Saturday April 7th !

Come out and join our special guests, the Easter Bunny and Monty Moose from the University Credit Union as we look for eggs, get our face painted and have a ballon animal made by Flip the Clown at the Annual Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday, April 7th 10am at the Asa Adams School in Orono.

Business Park Application to Be Submitted

The Kelley Road Business Park Advisory Committee Tuesday night recommended that an application for the proposed site plan for the business park be submitted to the Department of Environmental Protection for a site location permit.

The target date for submission is April 13.  Before then, the Town will host a public information meeting to answer questions about the permit application.  The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 5, 7 p.m., in the Municipal Building's Council chambers.  A...

Municipal Election, Tuesday, March 12th

ALL VOTING will be held at the Municipal Building, Council Chambers, 59 Main Street.  Voting hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

There are three candidates running for two 3-year terms on the Town Council.  The candidates are Mark Haggerty, Daniel LaPointe and Thomas Spitz. 

Voters will be electing one member to the RSU#26 Board for a 3-year term.  The RSU#26 Board candidates for 3-year terms are Margaret Lukens and Jennifer Mehnert.
