Spring Dance Recital !

The Mary Drew School of Dance in cooperation with the Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the "Spring" Recital on Saturday,   May 19th at 1pm in the Veazie Community School. Come enjoy the dance styles of all of the School's levels from Preschool to High School ages.

STREET AND STREAM CLEANUP

Orono will hold its annual street and stream cleanup on Saturday, May 12th.  The day will start with meeting at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the Town Office at 59 Main Street to form teams that will go to various areas of town for the cleanup.

At 11:30 a.m. everyone is to meet back at the fire station, where a BBQ will be held for all volunteers for helping out.

FREE LANDFILL DROP OFF STARTS MAY 12TH

FREE LANDFILL DROP OFF – MAY 12th, 15th - 19th, 23rd & 26th

 The landfill, located on Taylor Road off Outer Forest Avenue, will be open FREE OF CHARGE to Orono residents to DROP OFF Spring Cleanup Items on Saturday, May 12; Tuesday, May 15 through Saturday, May 19; and Wednesday and Saturday, May 23 & 26 from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

 Proof of residency or property ownership required.

 Standard rules for acceptable materials apply.  Acceptable items include:

Orono Memorial Day Parade

The 9th annual Orono Memorial Day Parade is coming Monday, May 28, 2012.  The Parade will form at the Orono High School parking lot at 9:00 am and will start at 10:00 am.  We are looking for participants to join us in this great event.

Comp Plan Update Underway

The Town Council has appointed a Comprehensive Plan Committee to prepare an update of the plan over the next 18 months.  The committee's organizing meeting will be at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 3, in the Town Council Chambers.

Orono Community Theater performs "Over the Tavern"
