ASSISTANT TOWN MANAGER 

 

 

Orono, Maine, a town of over 11,000 residents, and location of the University of Maine’s flagship campus, seeks qualified, energetic, and motivated candidate to serve as its Assistant Town Manager. This is a professional, full-time, permanent position responsible for a variety of duties, including management of the Town’s human resources and labor relations functions, as well as benefits administration. The Assistant Manager provides direct support to the Manager in the supervision of all municipal operations, and will serve as the Town’s representative on various regional committees. The successful applicant will have proven leadership, organization, analysis, communication and decision making skills, along with demonstrated initiative and judgment. A degree in public administration or related field with five or more years of progressive management experience is also desired. Previous municipal experience is preferred. The Town offers a competitive salary and benefit package including health and dental insurance, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, and participation in the Maine Public Employees Retirement System.
