DISPOSAL AREA RULES & REGULATIONS

The Orono Disposal Site, located off Forest Ave., is open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If the scheduled day falls on a municipal holiday, the disposal site will usually be open on the next regular weekday during the same hours. This disposal site is for wastes generated within the municipal boundaries that are not acceptable for curbside collection.

ACCEPTABLE WASTES:

Only the following wastes generated within the municipal boundaries will be accepted at the disposal site:

1. Boards, which may be burned.

2. Demolition debris including earth, plaster, mortar, bricks, building blocks,

roofing materials, sheetrock and any similar materials.

3. White goods including discarded washers, dryers and stoves.

4. Freon “ type” containing appliances including refrigerators, freezers, air-

conditioners, etc., can be disposed for an additional fee of $20.00 per

appliance.

5. Auto body parts and other heavy metal material.

6. Bulky materials such as mattresses, old furniture and carpet.

Materials must be separated by category—boards must be separate from metals and white goods. Roofing materials must be separate from boards.
