The Town of Orono will begin picking
up bagged leaves and brush on Tuesday,
May 7 - Friday, May 24.
Bagged leaves should be placed curbside next to the brush and limbs.
Limbs must be less than six inches in
diameter. Brush should be neatly piled
at curbside and limbs should be stacked
with broadest diameter ends facing the
curb. Piles must be limited to one per
parcel and not larger than 6 feet x12 feet.
No chunks of firewood, blocks of
wood or stumps will be picked up. Trash
that is mixed with bagged leaves will not
be picked up.

brush and bagged leaves to the landfill during regular operating hours.

May 17, 2019, 8:00 AM - May 19, 2019, 4:00 PM @ Orono Landfill, Taylor Road (off Forest Avenue).
The landfill, located on Taylor Road off Outer Forest Avenue, will be open
FREE OF CHARGE to Orono residents on May 17, 18 and 19, 2019, from 8am-4pm each day.
Proof of residency or property ownership is required.
Acceptable items include:
- Household and furniture items.
(NO TVs, monitors, batteries, fluorescent tubes or computers. NO hazardous materials or universal waste.)
- Boards, debris, metal (items must be separated at the landfill)
- Non-freon white goods (i.e. stoves, microwaves, cabinets)
The only charge for residents during these events is the $20/item fee for items containing freon (i.e. refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers and air conditioners) which must be obtained from the Town Office prior to drop-off at the landfill.
No tires, auto engines or car bodies can be dropped off. However, up to two tires (without rims) can be placed curbside with your weekly trash pickup.
