HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION
$13,000 Exemption
For All Who Qualify
FILING DEADLINE is APRIL 1

If you answer yes to the following questions, you may receive the Homestead Exemption:

· Are you a resident of the State of Maine?
· Have you owned homestead property in the State of Maine for at least the past 12 months prior to April 1, 2010?
· Do you declare that home as your permanent place of residency?

If you answered yes to all of these questions, you may be entitled to a property tax reduction, regardless of your income. If you are already receiving the Homestead Exemption in Orono, there is no need to reapply. Applications are available at the Town Office.
