    The Assessor is responsible for ensuring that all properties are assessed fairly and equitably as well as providing information about the various tax relief programs available to the public.

    We are the first official contact point for matters that require the Town Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals. This office also does inspections pertaining to safety concerns and for licensing purposes and rental registrations.

    The primary mission of the Orono Water Pollution Control Facility is to safely and cost effectively provide secondary treatment of Orono’s sanitary waste water and to meet or exceed established regulatory water quality standards in compliance of state and federal discharge permits.

    The Town Manager is responsible for the implementation of policy directions given by the Town Council. The office of the Town Manager is responsible for oversight and management of the Town Departments.

    The Town Office serves as the first line of contact for many Orono residents. Town staff not only provides front counter service where all the functions of the town clerk, tax collector and treasurer are available, they are also the public relations ambassadors for the town.
